Dr. S. Ananthakumar is a Senior Principal Scientist, Materials Science & Technology Division CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science & Technology, India. He has completed his Ph. D. in Chennai (2004). It was under DAAD Sandwich-fellowship in Materials Physics Laboratory, Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, Germany under the supervision of Prof. Heubner. The degree was awarded by Anna University in India. His research interests are Building materials from industrial solid wastes, Ceramic gels and binders for ceramic fabrication and coatings, Ceramic nanomaterials for Energy saving pigments, Silica/Alumina Aerogels and Porous Ceramics, Ceramic catalysts for Membranes and Bio Fuels , Microwave processing of Ceramics and Sintering, Ceramic-Polymer Electro ceramics, Rare Earth Thermal Ceramics including hydrophobic glaze for tiles.
