Dr. Rosiah ROHANI is the Deputy Chair of Research Centre for Sustainable Process Technology (CESPRO) and a Senior Lecturer at Chemical Engineering Programme (PKK) at the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She graduated from University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) for her bachelor and masters degree in Chemical Engineering. She has engaged in several institutions as a researcher including the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA) in Takasaki-shi, Gunma-ken, Japan. She received her PhD in Chemical and Materials Engineering from The University of Auckland, New Zealand. Her research interest mainly in the area of polymer electrolyte membranes, conducting polymers, ion exchange membranes, pressure filtrations, gas permeations, water & waste water treatment, hydrogen fuel cell, drilling fluids and engineering education. She is actively involved in teaching and learning activities as well as doing consultation work with the industries. Besides, she is actively involved in research competitions and she has won a Silver Award in 1st International Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand Symposium on Innovation & Creativity (iMIT SIC), UiTM Perlis, Malaysia (2017) and a Bronze Medal in 3rd International Biotechnology Competition & Exhibition (IBCEx), UTM Skudai, Malaysia (2017). She has been appointed as the guest editor for Pertanika Journal of Social Science and Humanities (JSSH) and the reviewer for various indexed and impact journals including Separation Purification Technology, Polymers, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Membrane Science, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Desalination, Journal of Water Process Engineering, Journal of Material Science, Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, Journal of Lasers, Optics & Photonics, Pakistan Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Sains Malaysiana, and many more journals, prestigious conferences and books, as well as prestigious national awards such as MAPIM 2017 and MAPIM 2014. She has involved in organizing numbers of symposiums, conferences, workshops at national and international levels such as the secretary for SOMChE 2015, treasurer for Sustainable Challenge 2019 & 2017, Algae Workshop 2014, ABHL-ABBS 2014, RSCESOMChEn 2008 etc. She is currently a member of Institutional of Engineers Malaysia (IEM), Society of Engineering Education Malaysia (SEEM) and university representative for My Membrane Society of Malaysia and few others. She had published more than seventy journal and conference proceeding papers and chapters in books in both chemical engineering and engineering education fields with hundrends of citations and 8 H-Index.
