Dr. Brajesh Kr. Dubey

Professor Brajesh Kr. Dubey has his bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Hons) from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, India and PhD in Environmental Engineering Sciences, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA. He is presently Associate Professor (with a focus on Sustainable Engineering and Integrated Urban Waste Management) in the Division of Environmental Engineering and Management at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. Dr. Dubey has nearly 15 years of research, teaching, training and industrial outreach experience in the areas of Sustainable Engineering and Urban Waste Management. Dr. Dubey has authored/co-authored more than 200 publications in his area of expertise and has presented at several national and international conferences and has worked as Environmental Expert for UN agencies and World Bank

He has been presently working with several proposed Smart Cities in India for the development of Integrated Waste Management systems.  He has worked on integrated waste management projects in several countries including USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, China, and Nigeria among others.  He has provided training programs in the subject area of Waste Management, Resource Recovery and Sustainable Engineering.  He has been teaching courses in the area of Integrated Waste Management, Life Cycle Analysis and Environmental Risk Assessment among other courses including development and delivery of several online MOOC courses in the area of Integrated Waste Management for Smart Cities, Sustainable Engineering and LCA, E-waste Management and a new one on Plastic Waste Management (started in Feb 2019).  He has taught at several universities in USA, Canada, New Zealand, China and India.
