Dr. Takayuki Shimaoka

Prof. Takayuki Shimaoka completed his  Ph. D from Graduate School of Engineering, Kyushu University, 1989. Since 2009 he is Chief, Director, Research Institute for Asian Environment, Kyushu University. He was awarded by Japan Society of Waste Management Experts (JSWME), 1997, “Numerical Simulation of Self-Purification Capacity in a Recirculatory Semi- Aerobic Landfill Site” and by Japan Society of Material Cycles and Waste Management (JSWCWM), 2010, “Waste Management Roles in the Improvement of Public Hygiene”. Dr. Shimaoka has research interests in biochemical and mineralogical stabilization of landfilled solid waste, use of waste incineration residue as construction material, mass transportation in a landfill site, development of advanced landfill methods and remote sensing for landfill monitoring.
